Current figures show Roane County has over 15,000 people, 6,000 households, and 4,000 families. The population density is 32 people per square mile. The population is spread out with 23.40% under the age of 18, 8.70% from 18 to 24, 26.60% from 25 to 44, 26.50% from 45 to 64, and 14.80% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. The male to female ratios are almost 1:1.
